SEVERE DRY SPRING MEANS USING LESS WATER
Projections of low water levels in Lake Mendocino have spurred the Sonoma County Water Agency to call for voluntary water-saving measures similar to last summer from its water contractors, including the Valley of the Moon Water District. This call comes after receiving historically low rainfall this spring and continued reductions in diversions from the Potter Valley Project.

VOMWD thanks its Customers for continuing to Conserve Water
Last summer the Sonoma County Water Agency requested mandatory water conservation of fifteen percent from its contractors, including VOMWD, as well as from residents, businesses, and the agricultural communities in Sonoma, Marin and Mendocino counties. Lake Mendocino water levels were at historically low water supply levels last summer and fall. The State Water Resources Control Board issued a Revised Order in response to a Petition for Temporary Urgency Change on Russian River, filed by the Sonoma County Water Agency. The Revised Order required mandatory water conservation of fifteen percent from July through October 2007. This requirement was successfully met, thanks to the valiant efforts on the part of everyone, including VOMWD customers!
VOMWD would like to thank its customers for responding to the call to conserve water so readily and willingly!
