Water Rates
State law requires a public agency such as VOMWD to set rates and levy charges sufficient to cover operating expenses, including interest on debts, and to provide funds for replacement or construction of facilities. The VOMWD water rates are made up of two basic components:
- Service charge.
A bimonthly charge, based on meter size, to recover the fixed cost associated with meter reading and billing, customer service, meter replacement and repair, and a portion of the costs for maintaining your water system. - Quantity (volume) charge.
Based on the actual amount of water used, measured in billing units of 1,000 gallons.
If you have a question about your water bill, please call our District Office at 707/996-1037. For general water bill questions and payment options, see our customer FAQ's. The current rates, effective July 1, 2008, are given below.
